winter shelter

hey, i just saw this and thought it might be a good idea for protecting outdoor bonsai from winter winds. you can get it in a 2,3, or 4 foot design. i'm curious, does anyone else think it's a good idea?

The clear fabric will act as a mini greenhouse like it is designed for and your plants will go through FREEZE and THAW cycles and you don't want that. Unless you plan to keep it someplace where no sun shines on it at all.

Jason,

Even if you keep this greenhouse and plant out of the sun, you risk thaw cycles as Mark mentions. what you want to do is to protect your tree from the wind and heavy snow that can damage your tree. But otherwise, you can place your bonsai under a porch, balcony, shed, etc...

This year, I'll be placing one of my Junipers under the steps of my porch. The tree will be protected from the wind & snow, and I can add snow to the soil to keep it moist if needed.
